Duties of the Treasurer:
- Mails out tax statements to taxpayers annually
- Maintains and updates taxpayer addresses and escrow files
- Collects and distributes taxes from real estate, mobile homes, and personal property
- Responsible for the cash management and investment of all County funds which includes monitoring cash flow and collateral requirements
- Handles all deposits of funds, disbursements of payments, and reconciliation of bank accounts ‑ banking functions
- Processes legal documents relating to property transfers through the collection of Deed and Mortgage Registry taxes
- Mails out "Truth In Taxation" notices annually
In Red Lake County, the Treasurer’s Office is also the Motor Vehicle Deputy Registrar #066.
